Paid In Since mm/dd/yy The total amount of money paid into the club starting on the date shown and ending one day prior to the date of the report. This includes both money invested (money that bought units) and fees (money that did not buy any units). Tot Paid Total amount of money invested and fees paid, minus any withdrawals. Paid in Plus Earnings This is the member's tax basis in the club (and the bivio.com club accounting software calls it that). Sometimes fondly refered to as "PIPE". I'll let someone else take a crack at explaining how it's calculated! OK, it's not that difficult once you realize it is just what the title says, Paid in Plus Earnings. The previous column is what you actually have put in the club. Each year, your share of the club's earnings (or losses ) is either added to or subtracted from that total as reported on your K-1 when you file your taxes. What is left is your tax basis when you withdraw, that you will not have to pay taxes on. Tot Ret This value is not particularly meaningful and should be ignored. It only appears in older versions of the desktop NAIC Club Accounting software. Current versions of club accounting software do not show it. CA Ret Pretend that the money invested by this member had instead been deposited into a fixed rate savings account at a bank. CA Ret is the compounded annual return (the bank would call it APY) that the savings account would have had to produce for the savings account balance to equal Current Value.
