The SSG screens for historical quality in the 10 year historical section. It checks for current quality in the Most Recent Quarter's box. We're looking for two things here: 1. Are current rates for sales and EPS in line with the historical rates or are they slowing or showing signs of more serious problems? 2. Are they growing in tandem with each other? Sales are top line growth. EPS is bottom line growth. It is difficult to keep EPS growing faster than sales growth for most companies for long periods of time.
