Toolkit 5 provides a useful portfolio management section for the individual investor. To make use of this tool one must first complete an SSG for each stock held in the portfolio. Then a library is set up for the portfolio. Once this is accomplished it is possible to see an Overview of the portfolio. The Overview provides information on portfolio Total Return, U/D ratio, Relative Value etc.
Toolkit also has a Defensive and Offensive alert within the portfolio management section. If a stock shows up on the Defensive list, pay close attention to what might be going wrong. Activate the PERT sheet to see if there is a significant decline in Sales or Earnings. Identify what is causing the stock to be flagged. If a stock generates an Offensive alert list it is not meeting one or more of your goals. Check to see which goal is not being met. You may choose to modify the goal or ignore the warning.
